Bees are one of those insects that can be helpful as well as pose a danger to you, your family and neighbors. You are likely to be concerned when you notice a bee hive in your home. Be warned never to handle bees by yourself as they are aggressive and can attack with little provocation. You may also be tempted to use pesticide so that you can be rid of them, but in most cases, this is not the best solution.
This cannot be emphasized enough. Bees are known to be attracted to foods and sweet things. If you have food lying somewhere in your house, cover them in airtight containers so that the smell may not attract them. The trash should be emptied out on a daily basis. Treat wood products to prevent carpenter bees from destroying them.
2. Use a smoker
You can smoke them out in a literal manner. Smokers have a way of calming bees. If you do not have a smoker, you can purchase from a local store or just look for a beekeeper who can come and do the work for you. Smokers can even chase the bees’ way if you leave it on the bees long enough. This will give you an opportunity to remove the nest as well as the remaining honey combs.
3. Bee hive removal
This is a method best done by someone who has professional experience. Make sure that you call in an expert to help hand the process. The process may seem easy but if the bees are disturbed in the wrong way they will end up attacking you and anyone near. A professional beekeeper should be called in before you touch the hive.
Bees play a very important role in our ecosystem, and it is not advisable to kill them. However, if the threat posed by the presence of the bee is too much, then this should be used as the last option. Stores have a variety of pesticides but settle for one that is competent as well as friendly to the environment to minimize its effects.
Note that you should always make sure that there is a bee expert present when you decide to get rid of the bees. They will be able to help you get through the process without getting into any danger.
